The 6th bHLH Symposium - Transcriptional control of development and disease
Date: 15-17 May, 2011
Venue: Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, CAS
http://bHLH.CSBMB.org.cn
Introduction
The 6th international symposium on basic Helix-Loop-Helix (bHLH) transcription factors features cross-disciplinary presentations and discussions on bHLH function in development and disease. Studies involving bHLH transcription factors in the past two decades have produced vast knowledge in broad areas of basic and clinical sciences ranging from gene regulation, development, oncogenesis, systems biology, to stem cell biology. Since the inaugural meeting in Amsterdam in 2001, the international bHLH symposium has been an open forum to foster cross-disciplinary interactions. The 6th international symposium will carry on this tradition by bringing international leaders in their perspective fields to discuss the latest findings and stimulate crossfield interactions. Scheduled topics include bHLH structure and function, bHLH mediated transcriptional regulation, bHLH function in development, bHLH proteins in disease models and human diseases. The Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology of the Shanghai Institute for Biological Sciences is the local host of the 6 th international bHLH symposium (http://www.sibcb.ac.cn/eindex.asp). We hope that meeting participants will enjoy this stimulating scientific event in the exciting city of Shanghai.
